Monteviot - a gem of a garden

Monteviot - a gem of a garden

Why not check out Monteviot Garden this month? Just along the road from Harestanes is this hidden jewel. Not only is the garden featuring adventurous herbaceous borders and a cluster of fragrant rose beds worth a look, but the location overlooking the curvaceous River Teviot will take your breath away.

Entry £3.50 is well worth every penny. There's a coffee machine which takes a bit of negotiating in a garden shed near the reception hut, but if you fancy a decent feed nip over to Woodside Garden Centre where the soup and sandwiches are honest and delicious.

Through July Monteviot House will be open to visitors - check it out and let us know what you think....
