Ok, we're cheating. Hellers Kitchen is not in the Scottish Borders but we can recommend it as a place to eat on the way into town.

When a friend recommended Hellers Kitchen, Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen came to mind.

But this is Heaven's Kitchen where you can snack wonderfully on reasonably priced Mediterranean style food for around a tenner.

Try some home made soup such as cauliflower with some exotic chargrilled chicken, roasted pepper and pesto sandwiches or if you want to splash out there's are some gourmet options on the specials board such as fresh scallops or an 8 oz Scottish steak.

We give Hellers the top award for the best loos we've seen too...
