Marmions, Melrose

Marmions, Melrose

Marmions Brasserie in Melrose is coffee heaven. Opposite the main car park by the abbey, it's the place with the green canopy.

Marmions has a Mediterranean ambiance - it's a haven to relax in and watch the world go by thru' the huge picture windows. Our Italian cousins would approve of the coffee, the capaccino is very extra frothy and the scrambled eggs on toast are frothy too, lapping over generous slabs of decent wholemeal bread.

Waitress Yvonne is especially great with kids, providing cups of capaccino froth for the tiny little ones to wade in. That goes down a treat with young mums...

An interesting Mediterranean touch is that local men of all ages and backgrounds often meet there for coffee. Worth checking out if you're new to the area or just visiting.
