Waverley Line

A report by The Scotsman on 19 May claims that the majority of Borderers claim they won't use the Waverley line.
The line, projected to cost almost £300 million will be constructed between 2010 and 2013.
Fifty four per cent of those questioned in the poll by Access, who specialise in public transport surveys, claim that even if train times suited them they would be unlikely to use the line.
Jeremy Purvis, Lib Dem MSP for Tweeddale, Ettrick and Lauderdale claims that many of his constituents opinion of the line has been affected by the delays and questions over funding.

SBC want reinstatement of Reston Station
Scottish Borders Council Leader David Parker and Roxburgh and
Berwickshire MSP John Lamont have this week written a joint letter to
the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change, Stewart
Stevenson, reaffirming the Council's commitment to the reintroduction of
rail services to Reston Station near Eyemouth in Berwickshire.
Scottish Borders Council has supported the reintroduction of rail
services to Reston for many years and, recently, has worked with East
Lothian Council and SEStran to progress the case for Reston Station.
