Milestone Cafe St Boswells

Milestone Garden Centre and cafe is one of these multifaceted places where you pop in for a cup of coffee and end up buying lunch instead because it looks so good.

Although this place is seethingly busy at times the chef manages to produce giant quantities of home cooking - the stovies in particular piled Everest high are worth queueing for. Tho' carrot cake is healthy by reputation there should be a government health warning on these gargantuan slices ... too much of a good thing we say!

Capaccinos there are sumptuously frothy and the best thing about all this honest food is that it's good value for money.

Milestone sells tasteful knick knacks from stylish coffee cups to candles with wooden wicks in hard to knock over glass jars.

The synthetic fur lined crocs are.. em.. different and the Christmas trees tho' plastic are truly extortionate tho' we concede that they are 'green' in the long term.

Oh yes, there are plants too and lots of garden stuff including the vastest range of burd foods for very fussy burds. We think the dreid farmyard manure is great value at £10 for three bags, but not so sure about tiny boxes of tattie fertiliser at over a fiver for a mini box (Eh!).
